JAMMU, Dec 12: A delegation of All India Kargil Students’ Union along with the BJYM State joint social media secretary and prahbari, BJYM Kargil district, Mohd Hassan Pasha, met Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, here today and submitted a memorandum seeking his intervention in alleged unfair Village Level Workers’ recruitment.
The delegation members alleged in the memorandum submitted to the Deputy CM that only two factors were considered in the recent selection list of Village Level Workers (VLWs) and there was no transparency and accountability examination conducted for these posts in Kargil.
“The District Services Selection Board (DSSRB) LAHDC Kargil conducted the written examination for 16 VLW posts. Students studying in different colleges and universities in different parts of India appeared in it with high hopes. But they were shocked to see the result of the written test declared on November 29”, they said, adding, the list was filled with names most of whom were immediate relatives or kith and kin of the top bureaucrats or political heads of the district.
“This was evident from the fact that most of the candidates, who performed extremely well in the test and had high merits and good previous academic records were shown the doors and those having ties with the officials with poor academic record were selected”, the memorandum reads.
The memorandum further reads that they gave representation to all the concern officers and public representatives including LAHDC Kargil, Chairman DSSRB Kargil and Deputy Commissioner Kargil but got only a spice silence in reply on this matter.
