JAMMU, Dec 12: A deputation of PDD Daily Wagers Union, Jammu province today met Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh and apprised him of the hardships being faced by the daily wagers of the department.
The delegation comprising of about 100 union members was led by their president, Surjeet Khajuria, who apprised the Minister regarding disparities with Jammu and Kathua district particularly in case of regularization of daily wagers whereas in other districts the daily wagers have been regularized.
Khajuria requested the Minister to clear vacancy position particularly of Tech IV (4440-7440+1300 GP) and Tech IV (4440-7440+1400 GP) from PDD upto March 2018 in place of upto November 30, 2017 so as to make position clear for regularization of daily wagers. He further submitted that the case of regularization of daily wagers be considered at par with the order NO CEJ/DPC-II/418-IV/B/dated 03-12-2013 vide which department used various vacant lying higher grade posts for regularization of daily wagers.
The union president urged the Minister that daily wagers particularly of Jammu and Kathua districts (and even those belong to other districts but working in these two districts) should be allowed to serve outside these districts for balancing and maintaining the strength of daily wagers in all the districts, after seeking undertaking from such incumbents, for their regularization, strictly at par with the order No DC/PD/Adm-III/4791-92 dated 25-11-2005.
The deputation also urged upon the Minister for r emoval of all the obstacles causing hurdles in vacation of stay orders availed by the employees of PDD passed by the Court of Law which is not allowing promotion of Tech-IV (GP 2610), Tech-III, Tech-II and Tech-I. The Minister was also requested to pass orders for conducting departmental type test of already working Class IV employees of the department for their proper adjustment as per their qualification.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to the demands raised by the deputation members and assured all possible help and support at his end for redressal of their grievances.
