REASI, Dec 12: An apparent suicide by a young man, who was found hanging near his house on November 2 in Pouni, has turned out to be a murder by his wife, her brother and another person.
Police has arrested two of the three accused and converted inquest proceedings under Section 174/ Cr.PC vide DDR No, 12, dated 02.11.2017, into FIR No.65/2017 under Section 302/120-B RPC Police Station Pouni.
Rashpal Singh, son of Kamal Singh of Beaulian, tehsil Pouni, district Reasi was found hanging from a tree under mysterious circumstances near his house.
Due to the strenuous efforts put by Inspector Sanjay Abrol, SHO Police Station Pouni, who enquired the matter under the supervision of Nikhil Gogna- DySP Hqrs Reasi, it was established that Rashpal was killed by his brother in law Jagdish Singh, son of Baldev Singh of Pouni and his friend Jagdish Singh son of Sobha Ram of Kallar Pouni, who were called by his wife Satya Devi after she was allegedly assaulted by the deceased.
After killing Rashpal, the accused hanged his body from a tree for misleading the investigation agency.
The case has now been entrusted to SHO Police Station Pouni for further investigation on merits.
