Sir,
Reference Mubarak Mandi Project (letter to editor) Daily Excelsior Nov. 25,2017. It is, of course, a matter to wonder that when too much stands published in the local papers, Daily Excelsior in particular, the Jammuites still do not know that no funds are lying with the Archaeological Survey of India and nor this oldest central agency with all expertise, who is already restoring or preserving nearly seventy big and small heritage monuments in J&K, have been given the responsibility of restoring and the preservation of these Royal Palaces of historical and cultural heritage importance of Duggar and the Dogras.
Their services are only being utilized on contractual basis, whereas everything lies with the State Government and its so called created NGO known as Mubarak Mandi Heritage Society in collaboration with the Deptt. of Tourism J&K State, who instead of any restoration/preservation have bulldozed the historical Marble Platform (Durbar-e-Aam) at their own, and now no one is taking its responsibility, even when it has been resented by one and all including the joint House Committee, appointed by the State Government to look into the matters concerning the preservation of MM Complex. Under such circumstances, instead of requesting ASI, we must pray the Almighty to save the historical monument from the clutches of these selfish and non technical elements and advise the State Govt. to immediately handover this project to ASI for its restoration and preservation as also extend all help to them to achieve the results within a time frame.
Yours etc….
