JKTF protests highlighting demands, grievances

JAMMU, Nov 21:  Highlighting their grievances and demands, members of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) held a strong protest demonstration near the Press Club of Jammu, here today.
Shouting slogans and displaying placards in support of their demands, the protesting teachers were seeking immediate adjustment of those promoted as Masters in 2014 and whose Distance Mode degrees have also been declared valid by the School Education Department.

They were also demanding removal of pay anomalies in  Mater Grade,  regular salary grants under SSA, RMSA & NPS Schemes,  DPC of  all the Cadres,  regularization of all the incharge officers of Education Department, transfer policy in favour of regularized RETs , their regularization immediately after the completion of  five years of service, early release of Selection Grade,  Sr  Teacher Grade in favour of under graduate  teachers, etc.
The protesting teachers also tried to take out a march towards the Civil Secretariat but Policemen, deployed there, did not allow them to proceed further. The protest demonstration remained peaceful.
Addressing the gathering, Ganesh Khajuria, State general secretary of JKTF, lambasted the attitude and dilly dallying policies of the State Government in mitigating the grievances of teaching community. He warned that if the State Govt does not issue order of adjustment of all the leftout Masters by December 5, 2017, the Forum would launch a State wide agitation. He also appealed the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to personally intervene to resolve all the pending issues of teaching fraternity.
Others, who addressed the gathering, included Yog Raj Singh Slathia, Gopal Singh, Soorat Singh Toofani, Rajender Gupta, Kuldeep Singh, Ravinder Singh, Mohd Iqbal, Darshan Sharma, Rajeshwar Sambyal, Subash Sharma and others.
Meanwhile, All Teachers Association, J&K has also appealed the School Education Department to immediately issue the necessary order for adjustment of the leftout Masters, whose Distance Mode degrees have been declared valid. The appealed was made during a meeting of the Association, held here today under the leadership of its president Mrignayani Slathia.
