JAMMU, Nov 12: Panun Kashmir held a meeting here today to discuss the issues being faced by the internally displaced Pandits.
The meeting among others, was attended by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, president PK, its national spokesperson, Virender Raina, Kamal Bhagati and Sameer Bhat.
The meeting decided to make some organizational changes in the Southern Chapter of PK and South India Chapter will be headed by Sunil Handoo as its coordinator. He will organize community members putting up in Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai for which the action plan was also prepared in the meeting.
Addressing the meeting Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo said that the members of the KP community who are dependent on relief would face difficulty on Diwali. The apathy and neglect of these people, presents very poor picture of governance. The PK has always demanded that the relief and economic rehabilitation of affected people should take precedence over every other spending by the Government and increase in relief is already over due and it must be done immediately, he added.
Virender Raina said that recent bonhomie with Pakistan is making no difference on the ground. Nearly every day the attempts are being made by Pakistan to push in armed terrorists and Government needs to tell the nation as to what special purpose would be served by the visit of secessionist leaders to Pakistan. The presence of these separatists is to be used for anti India rallies and fine- tuning the process of session and sabotage against India, he added.
