KATHUA, Oct 23: To update the knowledge base and skills of the students and to have a face to face interaction with the experts from Industry, a one day seminar on the theme ‘Relevance of Collaborative Paradigms for Academia and Industry Knowledge Transfer’ was organised here today by the Department of Computer Science and IT at Kathua Campus.
Different experts from the Industry were the resource persons who elaborated various features of the Sector thereby explaining the scope and various challenges of the Industry.
Providing the guidelines on the expectations of the companies from the fresher students, Anjali Gupta, having a rich experience as HR Executive in JARO Education Private Ltd., during the first session, stressed upon the participants to work upon their skills so as to prepare themselves for corporate life.
The second session was conducted by Avinash Sharma, Senior Manager in IT having more than ten years of experience in the Industry. He highlighted the need of original thinking for technical graduates and not to replicate text books.
Samta Shastri, an expert in Robotics and Automation, in third session, stressed upon the importance of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.
In the last session, Arun Sharma, an MBA with more than seven years of experience in Product as well as service Marketing, explained various challenges the students face during their transition from the Campus to corporate.
Prof Naresh Padha, Rector, Kathua Campus and Chief Coordinator Campuses, in his message, stated that such events are the need of the time in this professional world. He assured that more endeavours of organizing such programmes for the students shall continue in future also so that Industry- Academia collaboration is consolidated more for the benefit of the students.
