JAMMU, Oct 16: Dr Anil Bhat, Assistant Professor, Agricultural Economics, SKUAST-Jammu got Best Oral Presentation Research Paper Award and was declared first in International Conference on “Recent Trends in Bioinformatics and Biotechnology for Sustainable Development” at FV Sc. R S. Pura, SKUAST-Jammu, here today.
The award was presented by Prof V K Taneja, former Vice Chancellor, GADVASU and former DDG, ICAR, during valedictory function of the conference, which was attended by eminent scientists from across the country.
Dr Anil Bhat’s paper entitled “Crop diversification for sustainable livelihood of farmers in Chenani block of Udhampur district” discussed about the importance of crop diversification and sustainable livelihood approach by the farmers which made them to think to diversify from cereals to fruit and vegetable crops. The paper also discussed cost and return analysis along with marketing linkage of farmers in context of sustainable livelihood. The paper gave solution to the issues pertaining to marketing of agricultural products.
