JAMMU, Sept 23: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) today organized a training camp cum workshop on traditional Duggar culture at Durga Bhawan, Janipur, Jammu for the artists selected from far flung area of Jammu province.
The workshop was organized in collaboration with Union Ministry of Culture and Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, J&K Government. During the workshop, the training was provided on Sarangi, Karaka – Baran, Kud & classical and light music.
Today, the folk music workshop was conducted by the folk music experts, ML Dogra (former Regional Director of Song and Drama Division) and renowned folk singers, Ufha Handoo, Rajni Gupta, Raju Bajgal, MC Kotwal and Ali Mohd.
The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest, VK Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India while Dr Tara Singh Charak, former Deputy Director, J&K Health Department, was the guest of honour.
The Programme commenced with National Anthem and National Song. Thereafter, a musical play “Swachh Bharat” was staged by the artists. The play was written, produced and directed by M L Dogra, chairman while music was composed by Raju Bajgal. Besides, skits, songs and dances were also presented.
The singers, musician and actors who performed in the play were Neelam Gandotra, Kamli Devi Vijay Raina, Arvin Tickoo, Rahul Kilam, Rahul Raina, Daizy Bazaz, Rahul Pandita, Sonali Pandita, Deevam Jandiyal, Druv Pandit, Afroz Raaz, Renu Saproo, Rajni Gupta, MC Kotwal, Vansh Raina, Kuldeep Raj, Ujwal, Nishesh Bhat, Megha Raina, Rakshit Sharma, Tilak Raj, Mohan Sharma and Jatinder.
