One dies, 3 hurt in road accident

RAJOURI, Sept 11:  One person was killed while three others injured when a Tata Mobile vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Taryath area of last night.
A police spokesman said that mishap took place at around 8.45 pm when the vehicle loaded with apples was going to Mathiani area falling under Dharamsal Police jurisdiction. They had brought apples from Shopian area of Kashmir to sell in the villages of Kalakote and Taryath area. The vehicle was over loaded  and it slipped into a gorge as driver could not negotiate a curve on single fair-weather road.
All the four persons onboard including driver were injured and were removed to Taryath hospital by police party led by SI Sajjad Ahmed. While two were  provided first aid at local hospital, the two seriously injured were referred to GMC Hospital Jammu.
One of them succumbed to injuries on the way. He was identified as driver, Abdul Qayoom, son of Faqir Mohd, resident of Khore Bani in Taryath. The other injured Javed, son of Sher Din of Budhal was undergoing treatment in GMC&H Jammu. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
