SRINAGAR, Sept 11: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara Khalid Jahangir reviewed the status of development projects in respect of School Education Department.
He conveyed a meeting of various departments viz, R&B, RDD and PHE Departments. SE R&B Baramulla, Chief Planning Officer, Kupwara, Chief Education Officer, Kupwara Executive Engineer PHE Kupwara, Executive Officer, R&B Kupwara, Executive Engineer, R&B Handwara, DEPO Kupwara, AEE PHE, Handwara, ZEOs, Headmasters, etc. attended the meeting.
The meeting was informed that Swachh Bharat Mission is under operation in the district and toilet facilities are provided to schools under this programme. However, in certain schools some schools have temporary drinking water facility due to variety of issues and SE Hydraulic Kupwara was directed to take immediate steps for restoration of water supply to these schools in consultation with Chief Education Officer Kupwara.
DDC was informed that under RMSA 22 buildings have been completed so far and work is in progress in 20 buildings. CEO Kupwara and Executive Engineer R&B Kupwara were directed to carry out inspection of schools sites for resolving issues hampering execution of balance works.
It was also informed that under RMSA, 10 buildings are completed and the remaining buildings are at different stages. Directions were issued to concerned authorities to resolve the problems being faced in respect of execution of buildings.
Besides, under SSA, 89 MS, 760 PS, 1958 ACRs, 53 HM rooms, 7 BRCs and 45 CRCs were completed so for. The rest of the buildings are at different stage, out of these 4 MS, 24 PS, 35 ACRs, 3 HM, 1 BRC and 10 KGBV are abandoned, due to requirement of additional funds for their completion. DDC Kupwara directed CEO Kupwara to take up the matter for release of additional funds for completion of abandoned buildings.
DDC exhorted upon the officers to work with renewed vigor and zeal to complete the developmental projects. He also called upon the executing agencies to work in tandem and team-like manner for removing bottlenecks and resolving issues for lending fillip to developmental process.
