JAMMU, Sept 6: S Rajago-palan of Sainik School Nagrota has become the first in Masters’ (PGT) category to receive the prestigious National Award for Teachers. This award was presented to him for his meritorious service in the field of education.
In a glittering ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the Vice President of India, Venkaiah Naidu conferred the award on the teacher.
S Rajagopalan joined the school in 1992 as a member of the English faculty and has since been rendering dedicated service. He has been instrumental in promoting the primary aim of the school of preparing cadets for a career in the officer cadre of the Armed Forces. As an avid educationist, he has inspired cadets for over two decades to develop strong communication skills in English.
