REASI, Sept 6: Balbir Ram Rattan, Vice Chairperson of SC,ST& BC Development Corporation Limited, today asked the physically challenged and people belonging to economically weaker sections of society to come forward and avail the facilities of financial assistance under various schemes of the Government. He said this will not only uplift them and their families economically but also relieve them of the burden of being dependent upon others.
Balbir Ram Rattan, along with Divisional Manager of the Corporation, Gulam Qadir Khatana, visited Reasi in order to hand over Payment Authority Letters (PALs) to beneficiaries in whose favour the loan was sanctioned under various schemes of Corporation.
In a programme organized at Reasi District Office of the Corporation, he distributed PALs of financial assistance as loans to various categories of people, all of who felt overwhelmed to receive the same. The beneficiaries were drawn from the categories of physically challenged people, Safai Karamcharis and Backward Classes.
Speaking on the occasion, Balbir called upon people not to hesitate in coming forward to seek the loans which are meant for their upliftment as also enable them to lead a dignified life like other people. People from any category and class should know well and keep themselves aware of the fact that Governments, both at State and Centre, have made provision of certain schemes, which are exclusively meant for them, he added.
He said instead of waiting only for the job opportunities, they should utilize the financial assistance offered as loan to start any work of their interest and earn their livelihood in a dignified manner. They must understand this facility is only an alternative to jobs as jobs cannot be given to each and every one in this competitive era. The loans so offered must be utilized by them in right direction, he added.
District Manager Sat Paul, Recovery Assistant Mohinder Kumar and BJP district president Kuldeep Raj Dubey were present on the occasion.
The VC also took stock of the recovery status of the previous loan cases and he was told that out of a target of Rs 6 lakh for first quarter, the district has recovered Rs 5.63 lakh till date.
