Udhampur, Sept 6: Several activists of Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today got injured after they clashed with police when they attempted to gherao the Road and Building Minister Naeem Akhtar here.
Police however, foiled their bid to gherao the Minister when he was en-route Udhampur to tour Chenani tehsil.
The Panthers Party activists led by Harsh Dev Singh, JKNPP Chairman and Former Minister who were waiting to meet the Minister and to apprise him of the problems of the District were told after three hours of waiting that the Minister would not come to the Dak Bunglow and would be leaving for Jammu instead.
The un-relenting Panthers took out a procession of several vehicles and reached Jakheni Chowk where they tried to stop the cavalcade of Minister. Contingents of police confronted the JKNPP workers while they tried to stop the Ministers cavalcade resulting in injuries to several workers.      The agitated workers thereafter held a protest at Jakheni raising slogans against the Minister.
