Sir,
The militants have evolved the new strategy of nullifying security forces operations by targeting J&K police personnel and SOG involved in the anti-terrorist operations. In the recent, attacks of militants on the J&K police personnel have increased manifold. The army, paramilitary forces and state police have tightened the noose on militants by carrying all out operations in the Valley. Due to killing of approx two dozen militants including top most commanders , the militants are desperate and evolving new strategies to tackle the security forces. Govt should also evolve new strategies to avoid casualties of troops and boost the morale of troops participating in the anti terrorist operations particularly J&K police personnel because they have no foolproof security during off duty as compared to Army and Para-military forces .
Govt should ensure security of cops to thwart the evil designs of militants and their sponsors. Pakistan and ISI is bent upon to demoralize the J&K police personnel/SOG deployed in anti militant operations . They want to ensure that there should be no strategic support to the Central forces from the local public as well as local police to have their upper hand. Police should also be provided sophisticated weapons and equipment at par with Army and paramilitary forces. Moreover, monetary benefits of pay and perks, special allowances and rewards should be given to the state police personnel involved in the operations besides their families should also be looked into and helped as required. It is the duty of the Govt to ensure that morale of the police personnel is boosted so that there should not be feeling of desertion among state police personnel. Pakistan, ISI and militants want to keep the police personnel away from the operations as they are well versed with local language and hide outs of militants and can inflict heavy casualties on militants.
Yours etc…..
