Drug peddler arrested with heroin

JAMMU, Sept 5: Bakshi Nagar police under “Operation Sanjeevani” arrested a drug peddler along with 15 grams of heroin.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Bakshi Nagar police station laid a naka near Pawan Ice Cream and signaled a without registration number scooty to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the rider accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape, but the cops intercepted the vehicle after a brief chase.
During checking, police recovered 15 grams of heroin from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Rajesh Sharma, son of Jagdish Raj Sharma, a resident of Shakti Nagar, Rajpura.
A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Bakshi Nagar police station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Ashwani Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO West Pranav Mahajan and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
