KATHUA, Sept 4: Lakhanpur police seized 2.5 kilograms of poppy straw from a Punjab bound truck.
As per police spokesman, a team from Lakhanpur police station laid a naka at Railway Bridge. On seeing police cops, the driver of the truck bearing registration number PB10EH-3972 which was on way from Lakhanpur towards Punjab parked the vehicle before some distance of the naka and fled away from the spot.
During checking, 2.5 kilograms of poppy straw was recovered from the said truck.
A case under FIR Number 81/17 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at police station Lakhanpur and hunt has been launched to arrest the truck driver.
Police team led by SHO Lakhanpur Inspector Kulbir Singh Choudhary seized the poppy straw under the supervision of DySP DAR Kathua Parul Bhardwaj and SSP Kathua Mohammad Suleman Choudhary.
