REASI, Aug 2: Police today foiled an attempt of liquor smuggling and arrested a bootlegger besides recovering 50 pouches of liquor from his possession.
A Police party from Police Station Reasi, led by ASI Jagdish Singh was on patrolling duty at Bus Stand Reasi area when 50 Poly pouches measuring 250/250 ml each of J&K Excise liquor, were recovered from the possession of Vivek Kumar alias Pittu of Aghar Jitto, tehsil Katra. The accused was on way from Reasi towards Aghar Jitto for illegal sale of liquor at his native village.
Police arrested the accused person and seized the recovered liquor. On this, case FIR No. 151/2017 U/S 48-(a) J&K Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Reasi.
