Probe ordered into alleged thrashing of Taxi Union President

DODA, July 29: District administration ordered a magisterial probe into the incident of severe thrashing of Taxi Union President Mohsin Ganai allegedly by the cops, which triggered protest in Bhaderwah town of the district yesterday.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Hanief Malik ordered the magisterial inquiry into the incident after holding a meeting with the representatives of Anjuman-e-Islamia, Taxi Operators Union Bhaderwah and relatives of the injured person Mohsin Ganai in presence of SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir Khatana and Additional SP Bhaderwah Shaazad Salaria.
According to ADC Mohammad Hanief Malik, Sub Divisional Magistrate Thathri Mohammad Anwar Banday has been appointed as the inquiry officer. “Banday will hold the inquiry into the circumstances which led to the incident and submit the report within 15 days”, he added.
Regretting the incident, ADC said, “this was very unfortunate and we have taken the matter very seriously and in presence of MLA and SSP, we amicably tried to solve the issue and had ordered a judicial probe. Whosoever found guilty after the probe, will be booked under law”, ADC stated.
As reported, protests erupted in Bhaderwah town yesterday evening after cops allegedly beat up Taxi Union President Mohsin Ganai.
