JAMMU, July 3: Continuing their protest, the agitating contractual lecturers burnt the effigy of the Government for not paying heed towards their demands, here today.
Carrying banner and raising slogans in support of their demand as well as criticizing the State Government, the protesting contractual lecturers held protest near Press Club Jammu.
The protesters included a number of female contractual lecturers, who were also criticizing the State Government for its callous attitude towards their genuine demand of regularization.
They are demanding regularization as per Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010, which was passed by the State Legislature for regularization of all the Ad-hoc/Contractual/Consolidated employees as one time exception.
While addressing the protest demonstration, Arun Bakshi, President of the Contractual Lecturers (10+2) Association, said that despite all the clarifications made by the Divisional Commissioner by communicating to the Administrative Department that the demand of 10+2 Contractual Lecturers was genuine, the State Government did not pay heed to the issue of contractual lecturers who were protesting to get their legitimate demands of regularization resolved.
