Sir,
Recently, when Jammu was reeling under intense heat going to 45 degrees, and the public was protesting against the continuous power shut downs, low voltage supply, plus voltage fluctuation, the power department came with an excuse putting all the responsibility on the shoulders of the consumers. A few years ago, Power Department ordered to revise the agreements of the consumers and most of the consumers went through the desired procedure. Then what went wrong during this period? And if there is any wrong, doesn’t the responsibility of it lie on the concerned department to find out the wrongs. And the most important point is that when any scheme or project is taken into consideration, it is not designed on the present consumption and the population but it is designed on the basis of the population and the consumption at ten years or twenty years ahead. So, where the error lies?
Okay, it is true, that some consumers are doing wrong but who encourages them?
And lastly, if there are defaulters who get electric supply that is illegal but under the noose of the department without having agreements, who is responsible for it?
Yours etc….
Govind Ram
