Patwar Association holds State-wide dharna

JAMMU, June 21: A State wide pen down strike was observed by All Jammu and Kashmir Patwar Association at all district headquarters today.
Braving heavy rains all Girdawars and Patwaries assembled at their respective district headquarters to press for their genuine demands which included: Grade Pay of Patwaries from 2400 to 2800; Conducting of DPC of Girdawars and Patwaries; Abolition of direct recruitment of Naib Tehsildars; Creation of GQ Circles and Patwar Halqas; Promotion of qualified Gqs to Naib Tehsildars; Enhancement of Allowances; Establishment of departmental enquiry cell: and Meeting Hal for AJKPA at province level.

The association has already given representations from time to time for these demands but nothing has been done by those at the helm of affairs. Association said it was left with no option than to go on strike all over the State.
It was decided in a meeting of the association held under the chairmanship of Raman Raj Sharma, State president that further course of action would be announced after Eid festival, if the demands were not met with.
