UDHAMPUR, June 16: The seven-day workshop on ‘Scale Development and Validation’, organized by the Udhampur Campus, University of Jammu, concluded here today.
Prof R D Sharma, Vice Chancellor, JU, and Prof Desh Bandhu Gupta, Dean Academic Affairs, JU were the chief guests in the valedictory function while Saurabh Aggarwal, associated with IBM SPSS and faculty of HBTI Kanpur, was the guest of honour.
In his valedictory address, the Vice Chancellor said that research is nothing but a common sense and the need is just to apply it. He stressed that research must be of high quality in order to produce results that can be applied in real life.
Prof Desh Bandhu Gupta encouraged the faculty members for organizing such programmes that would help in the growth and development of scholars as well as faculty members.
Saurabh Aggarwal advised to make use of only one software instead of multiple softwares and be proficient in that one .
Earlier, in her welcome address, Prof Hardeep Chahal, Rector Udhmapur Campus, JU, briefly explained the proceedings of the seven day workshop. Dr Neetu Kumari, Lecturer, Department of Commerce, Udhampur Campus, elaborated on the conduct of the programme by presenting a detailed report.
Shankar M M, Dr Hamendera Dangi and Saurabh Aggarwal were the key resource persons for the workshop. In all there were 38 participants from different universities, departments and affiliated colleges.
Dr Jeevan Jyoti, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, JU, discussed the results of pilot study on brand image and brand outcome of University of Jammu, especially conducted for creating raw data set for the workshop.
Jhanvi Khanna, Lecturer, Department of Economics, Udhampur Campus, conducted proceedings of the valedictory session.
