KATHUA, June 15: Holding State Govt responsible for its failure to initiate the infrastructure development of Sub-District Hospital Hiranagar, Congress activists staged protest demonstration in front of SDM office at Hiranagar town and later handed over memorandum under the leadership of District Congress Committee president Kathua and former MLC Subash Gupta today today.
While addressing the protesters, Gupta said that escalating hardships of public and lackadaisical attitude of the Government towards the redressal of the problems had proved that the State Coalition as well as the Union Government had turned Nelsons’ eye towards public.
The Ex-MLC said that former Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad announced expansion of 30-bedded hospital to 100 bedded and as part of this, he released token money of Rs 80 lakh in year 2013, which is lying with the R&B Department.
“Congress taking serious not of the delay in expansion would initiate struggle if Government fails to meet its demand,” he added.
Gupta said that Social Welfare Department has launched ‘State Marriage Assistance Scheme’ for rural un-married girl’s who has attained 18-years of age. But unfortunately, the State Government has denied this scheme to urban girls. He said the poverty has nothing to do with the religion, caste, creed and region.
Expressing strong resentment against PDP-BJP Coalition’s failure in restoring water, power and ration supply in different parts of the district, Gupta said that Government has totally failed in providing basic amenities to people.
He further said that Congress Party believes in moving ahead with the people of all religions, castes and groups but the Modi and his party, carries no productive and secular vision to unite the country’s population which has a large diversity.
Senior members Ram Krishan Sharma, Satpal Sharma, Narinder Rathore, Ramesh Kundal, Parveen Kumar Bhagat, Ashok Kumar, Adv Vinay Sharma, Pankaj Sharma, Sanjay and Lucky Rathore, were also present on the occasion.
