JAMMU, June 2: While taking the serious note of land encroachment by mafia group at Ward No 32 in Gole area of Jammu West Assembly segment BJP State president and MLA of the Constituency, Sat Sharma issued instructions to the administration asking it to order immediate stoppage of the work on the piece of land till the issue is resolved and the allotted piece of land for the playing field is demarcated.
The MLA assured the local people that the prompt action will be taken in the matter as the playing field is very important for the overall development of the people. He immediately issued directions to the administration to inquire the whole matter in a time bound manner and said that otherwise the case will be soon referred to the Vigilance Department for investigation.
He said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a pledge to change the fate of India so that it will emerge as the Vishav Guru and for this many projects have been initiated by him. Thus nobody from the BJP will allow any type of work which can hinder the development works in the State.
Earlier a large number of people had gathered in the area and they were protesting over the encroachment of piece of land in the area by some goons and musclemen
The protesters claimed that they used to play in the area on this piece of land since early 80s as the land belonged to the Government registered under Revenue record with Khasra No. 746. Then during the course of time in late nineties the locals were allotted 25 kanals of land for the playing field by the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Jammu, they added.
They said the DC office then sought and received NOCs from 11 departments, even the NOC from general public so that no body lays claim over the piece of land later.
Now all of a sudden the land mafia in connivance with some influential persons initiated the work on the land with the dumpers which the locals resisted and they informed the MLA Sat Sharma, who visited the spot along with the Police, the Revenue officials and political activists of the area, they alleged.

Rajesh Gupta, Sat Paul Karlupia, Lovekesh Gondi, Kiran Wali, Gurcharan Singh, Harcharan Singh, Deepak Kumar, B.L Koul, Harbans Singh, Tarlok Singh, Arun Jandiyal, Amrik Singh and others accompanied the MLA.
