KATHUA, May 26: BJP MLA from Kathua Constituency, Rajiv Jasrotia today kick started developmental works worth 36 lakh in his constituency which included inauguration of Modern School at Government Middle School PWD Colony Kathua at Rs 12.45 lakh, inauguration of ICTC Lab in Government Higher Secondary School Kathua and Boundary wall at Rs 13 lakh, inauguration of ICTC Lab in Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kathua at Rs 8 lakh, besides assuring one Hand pump in Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kathua, three rooms and one multiple hall in the presence of CEO Kathua and other officers.
Speaking on the occasion MLA said that an effective monitoring mechanism has been put in place to enforce accountability and transparency in the implementation of developmental schemes. He also underlined the need for public involvement in the developmental activities and said that without their cooperation the objective of the Government of taking State’s development tempo to new heights cannot be achieved.
He said that the Union Government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been providing liberal funding to the State for accelerating developmental and economic activities.
Addressing students, MLA called himself as a public servant whose doors are open round-the clock for the people. He said that if any person has any problem, he can approach him directly; adding that governance at the doorstep is the new mantra of running Government in the State.
Jasrotia said that coalition Government is committed to address the basic problems of people like drinking water, power, essential supplies, health, roads etc for which it has taken up some bold initiatives also. He said that equal growth of all the three regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, particularly the rural and far-flung areas of the State is being given priority by the present coalition Government.
He said that he will continue his endeavors to meet the aspirations of the people of the Kathua Constituency despite all odds while hoping that the general masses will extend their sincere cooperation to put the constituency back on the track of development and progress.
