JAMMU, Oct 20: Mohinder Soni from Jammu and Hem Lata from Punjab shared 1st place in the All India Devotional Song Competition, which entered 4th day, here today.
Suresh Kumar from Jib Udhampur was adjudged 2nd, while the third position was shared by two contestants Navneet Kour from Ludhiana and Rabjot Singh from Jammu.
As a part of Navratra festival 2012, the competition started with lighting of the cetremonial lamp by chief guest, Robin Singh Mehta, Director Tourism in presence of other dignitaries including DIG Udhampur Range, Jagjit Kumar, Joint Director Tourism Ajay Sharma, Addl SP Katra, Mohan Lal, Assistant Director Tourism Veenakshi Kaul, DySP Katra, Rajinder Singh Katoch besides president Hotel & Restaurant Association Katra Sham Lal Kesar, Sardari Lal Dubey and Harish Dubey Members Navratra Festival Committee, Swami Yoga Nand Ji Maharaj and Rakesh Wazir chairman All India Devotional Song Committee who was also conducting the proceedings of competition.
The competition was adjudged by Anupama Sharma Prof Music & renowned Dogri Singer, Praduman Singh Ex. Programmer Executive Radio Kashmir Jammu and Parveen Sabherwal Ex HoD music in many colleges.
As per the norms of the competition, the contestants who stood first will directly join the Mega Final which is scheduled to be held on October 23, 2012 and 2nd & 3rd winners will join semifinal on October, 22, 2012.
The winner of mega final will be awarded with a gold coin amounting to Rs 1 lakh and a recording contract with Venus Records & Tapes Ltd. besides other prizes from Zee News, Zee Jagran and Disha Channel.
Rakesh Wazir chairman of the competition said that final of the competition will be adjudged by the famous personalities from media and Bollywood including Ganesh Jain, Managing Director Venus Records & Tapes Ltd. Ramesh Taurani Managing Director Tips Ltd, Pritam Music Director, Madhur Bhandarkar Producer/Director,Vikas Mohan Producer and trade analyst, Mohinder Batla Chairman cum managing director MH group, Barkha Arora CEO Zee Jagran and will meet the press at Hotel KC Residency, Jammu at 11 am.
