BSF soldier dies during training

UDHAMPUR, May 12: A  BSF soldier died during training at Subsidiary Training Center, Dhar Road, Udhampur, here today.
The deceased was identified as Constable Anil Kumar, son of Charumal of 163 Bn BSF, who was undergoing Junior Leadership Course. He collapsed during field training test activity at STC around 6.45 am.
This Junior Leadership Course for promotion from Constable to Head Constable has been going on at STC since last 8 weeks and scheduled to be completed tomorrow i.e. on 13th May.
Today, final Field Physical Efficiency Test (FPET) of the above said course started at 0615 hrs. Before start of 3.2 km run of FPET, well being were asked from the participating troops and no complain of any nature was expressed by any one. At 0640 hrs, when Ct Anil Kumar was just few meter short of end point, he collapsed and fell down. Doctor present their put him on oxygen as well as have CPR and simultaneously evacuated him in no time in BSF ambulance to civil hospital where he was declared as brought dead.
According to a BSF spokesman, the deceased was medically fit and in he had never complained during 8 weeks period of training.
Late Constable belongs to VPO- Andila, PS-Mael, Distt-Deoria, UP. He is survived by wife Archna Devi, two sons and one daughter.
Ct Anil Kumar was a dedicated and sincere borderman and a through professional, the spokesman added.
