SRINAGAR: Authorities this evening issued an avalanche warning for higher reaches in north Kashmir districts following fresh snowfall, an official spokesman said.
He said the District administration Kupwara this evening asked people to exercise caution in view of an avalanche warning issued for higher reaches and sloppy areas of the district valid next 24 hours.
He said the avalanche warning for next 24-hours exists for Keran, Karnah, Machil Tangdhar, Budnamal, Jumgund Nowgam, Kumkadi, higher reaches of Kralpora.
Accordingly, people residing in these areas have been asked to take necessary precaution while moving outside their homes and refrain from venturing outside during the night hours for their own safety. (AGENCIES)
