Gopinath Trust organises lecture on ‘Shakti Upsana’

JAMMU, Oct 14: Bhagwan Gopinathji Trust organised a lecture on ‘Shakti Upsana’ at its Ashram premises in Udaiwala here.
Swami Girishanandji Maharaj, secretary, Ram Krishan Ashram, Jammu, was the guest speaker on the occasion, who was given a warm reception by the trustees and a large gathering of devotees, who were eager to listen to the discourse.
Swami Girishanandji Maharaj commenced with the recitation of mantras. He elaborated the importance of Navratra and different swaroops of Mata Shakti.
Giving a logical account of various aspects of importance of Shakti Upsana in the life of a common man, he asked the devotees to contemplate over the subtle issues, which can gradually help them to rise at higher stages of consciousness.
Swamiji elaborated the importance of each day of Navratras, which is devoted to a particular form of Mother Goddess in a common man’s parlance. He stressed upon the listeners to have faith and devotion upon the Mother Goddess, who is always eager to take care of the woes of her devotees. Swamiji said, “To shun ego in the path of spirituality is a prerequisite”.
He also recited many shalokas of Bhagavad Gita during his discourse and emphasized upon the gathering to make constant efforts to mould their lives as preached by religious scriptures.
The welcome address was given by MK Tikoo while the vote of thanks was presented by O N Chrungoo.
