POONCH, Dec 30:  Prominent Gujjar leader from Poonch area,  Shamsher Hakla  has urged upon the Prime Minister  Narendra Modi to direct Chief Minister of J&K to pass a bill in the coming session of J&K  Legislative Assembly for continuing reservation in promotions for the J&K Govt employees belonging to Schedule Tribe, Schedule Caste and other backward communities.
In a press statement Hakla said that  reservation is the need of the employees  belonging to ST, SC and OBC categories.  In order to keep them  at par with people belonging to upper castes, their reservation in promotion is essential, he said.
The Gujjar leader  said that even after 25 years of granting ST status to the Gujjar and Bakerwal community by Govt, the people of the community are deprived of full benefit of it, as the Gujjar and Bakerwal community is still socially, educationally and  economically  lagging behind.
