JAMMU, Dec 27 : A young girl allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at Mishriwala area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, Meeta Devi (25) daughter of Anant Ram, resident of Mishriwala, allegedly consumed some poisonous substance yesterday following which she was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment.
“However, the girl expired today at about 7 pm”, the spokesman said, adding, the body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary of the hospital and tomorrow after conducting postmortem, it will be handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
He said that the concerned police had taken cognizance.
