JAMMU, Dec 25: All J&K Para Military Forces Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association held protest to highlight their pending demands.
Large number of ex-servicemen led by President of the Association JS Bajju assembled outside Press Club here and raised slogans in favour of their demands.
While speaking, Bajju castigated the State and the Central Government for its lackadaisical approach to recognize the services of the ex-paramilitary forces personnel.
Despite submitting representation in this regard, the State and Central Government failed to consider the demands of the ex-servicemen of the paramilitary forces.
He highlighted various demands including implementation of one rank one pension to ex-servicemen of paramilitary forces, ex-servicemen status, fix pension on last revised pay scale, raise medical allowance from Rs 500 to Rs 1500, re-imbursement facility of CPMF ex-servicemen and VAT exemption on CSD canteen items.
He also demanded free medical facility in State Government hospitals, free counseling in the aspect of law, 20 per cent reservation to their wards, 15 per cent quota for railway reservation, ex-gratia to handicapped and CPMF persons retired on medical grounds, Rs 50,000 award to gallantry award winners, allotment of hostel and authorization and establishment of Ex-servicemen CPMF persons board, etc.
Bajju appealed to the Government to fulfill the demands at the earliest.
