Public awareness must to save Thallasemia patients: Dr Thappa

JAMMU, Nov 27: New Young Blood Organization (NYBO) which is working for the welfare of the Thallasemia patients in the State has appealed the people to come forward in saving the precious lives of these patients by donating blood for a noble cause.
Talking to reporters here, today, chairman Young Blood Organization, Ashok Verma and Chairman Samrasta Welfare Committee, Dr Rajinder Thappa said their organizations are organizing a joint blood donation camp for such patients on December 11 in SMGS Hospital and they sought the cooperation of the people in making the camp a success by donating blood voluntarily.
They said the two organizations have launched a crusade for saving the lives of these people and besides blood donation camps they are also holding public awareness camps in this regard.
They said the lives of these patients can be saved by timely donating blood as they are dependent on blood transfusion only.
Dr Rajinder Thappa CMO said donation of blood is a great and noble contribution towards society and any body from age group of 18 to 65 years can donate blood.
