JAMMU, Nov 27: A meeting of Provincial Committee members of J&K United School Teachers Association(USTA) was held, here today under the chairmanship of Hari Singh, provincial president.
The meet reviewed the march to Parliament and Dharna programme at Jantar-Mantar, New Delhi, under the banner of School Teachers Federation of India on 29th November, 2016 to force the Central Government to withdraw New Pension scheme (NPS) and implement Old Pension Scheme for all employees and Teachers appointed on or after 01-01-2004 .
USTA collected more than 15000 signatures from Teachers in Jammu province, to be submitted to Prime Minister of India in support of the demand. 50 activists of USTA are going to participate in this nationwide protest programme.
The meeting in one voice appealed the Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir to withdraw New Pension Scheme (NPS) and implement Old Pension Scheme in favour of employees and Teachers appointed on or after 01-01-2010 in the State. USTA also appeals the Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir to implement 7th Pay Commission and release pending DA installment at an earliest.
