JAMMU, Nov 27: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today inaugurated the newly installed ‘Multiplay Station Jullah’ at Fountain Park, Sector 4, Channi Himmat.
Director Floriculture, Sushma Chauhan was also present on the occasion. The function was organized by the Development Committee of the Fountain Park.
Addressing the gathering, Kavinder said the Government is laying thrust on developing parks across the State for generating green cover besides providing people with a recreational space for community building and beautification.
“Development of parks will provide the people with an encouraging environment for outings, socializing and will help promote in people a healthy lifestyle especially in kids and elderly,” he added.
The Speaker also appreciated the role of Floriculture Department in developing this park which will benefit people of all ages from all sections of society.
The people also apprised the Speaker of the problems being faced by the inhabitants of the area.
Taking note of the concerns brought to his notice, the Speaker assured the locals people that he would look into these issues and ensure early redress of the same.
Speaker also maintained that various developmental works are under execution which includes black topping, repair and widening of internal and main roads of Channi Himmat. The Speaker said the work for drains and lanes under construction in the area would be completed at the earliest.
Among others who were present on the occasion included officers from Floriculture, Tourism and JMC, Development Committee members and the residents of the area.
