PCC reviews Oppn’s Nov 28 ‘Chakka Jam’, protest prog

JAMMU, Nov 24: The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) today reviewed the country wide Opposition’s `Chakka Jam’ protest programme held here today.
In a meeting of the PCC Executive of Jammu province, held here today at Congress headquarters, under the leadership of PCC chief GA Mir, the members of the executive body and senior functionaries discussed the strategy and also reviewed November 28th protest programme.
The meeting threadbare discussed the overall political scenario in the State and country, especially in the wake of recent demonetization. The meeting also discussed the ongoing membership drive of the party besides 100th year of birth anniversary of Late Indira Gandhi being observed all over country throughout the year by the Congress party. The meeting discussed the nationwide protest of Chakka Jam by Opposition parties on November 28 on the issue of demonetization.
GA Mir while speaking on the occasion said that the Congress party being the principal opposition party did not demand a role back of the demonetization move but the manner and haste in which it was implemented has disturbed and severely jolted the lives of the common man. The banking services in the rural sector have totally collapsed and people are not able to use their hard earned money. Several deaths have taken place across India, out of which 11 are bank officials who died due to stress.
Sham Lal Sharma, senior vice president stressed upon all leaders and members of the Congress party to make the bandh, a complete success and involve the common masses and expose the real face of BJP before the people. He urged upon the Govt to make public the names of two ministers whose cash has confiscated and later released by the police officials in a clandestine manner.
The meeting was also attended by senior members Nawang Rigzin Jora, all MLAs, MLCs, PCC office bearers, Executive Members, heads of frontal organizations and District presidents of Jammu province.
