RAJOURI, Nov 23: The family members and relatives of deceased youth killed in mysterious accident two days back on Rajouri-Darhal road, today held protest and blocked road for about an hour demanding setting up of SIT to probe the `alleged murder’.
The relatives along with villagers of the area from Sagrawat in Darhal came to Rajouri town and blocked road near Kheora, disrupting movement of the vehicular traffic for about 45-50 minutes. They were shouting slogans against Police and alleged that they were trying to give twist and projecting it as accident case. The family members alleged that it was clear murder and scene was created on the spot to project as accident. They said there was deep stab wound at the neck of Wasim Raja, son of Abdul Qadir and he died due to this injury.
The relatives and people demanded that SSP should set up Special Investigation Team (SIT) to solve the mysterious murder. They also alleged that some youth were accompanying Wasim when he was returning to Darhal from Khera in Rajouri on the night of November 21. The police intimated about accident at around 9.15 pm. They demanded that mystery be resolved after placing accused behind the bars.
Later, Additional DC Mr Mumtaz and Additional SP reached the spot along with SHO and they pacified the agitating members of the family and people from the area to hold fair probe into the matter and also set up SIT if they will not be satisfied with the outcome. They said that postmortem report is yet awaited and the things will be clear after it is received. The police said that some youth have been detained in this connection.
