NGEU alleges harassment of Class IV employees in JU

JAMMU, Nov 23:  Alleging un-necessary harassment to Class IV employees by the Director Distance Education and Rector of Bhaderwah Campus, Jammu University Non-Gazetted Employees Union has demanded removal of both the officers.
Addressing a press conference, here today, the Union president, Vijay Kumar warned that if no action is taken by the Jammu University in this regard, the Class IV employees will resort to agitational path.
“The Director DDE is harassing Class IV employees because they were part of the token strike in July and he also threatened me when we registered our protest against the harassment,” Vijay Kumar said and added that despite submission of a written complaint to the University authorities, no action was taken so far.
The NGEU president also leveled similar allegations against the Rector Bhaderwah campus and said that the officer was harassing permanent employees to adjust his known contractual staff, who have been given all the powers.
“If both the officers are not removed, we will stage protest demonstrations and adopt agitational path and JU authorities would be responsible for the same,” he announced.
NGEU general secretary, Banarsi Lal also spoke on the occasion and alleged that despite a written agreement with the union, the JU authorities fulfill their one demand only despite lapse of four months.
Those, who were present in the press conference, included Suraj Parkash, Ashok Kumar, Vidya Lal, Raj Kumar, Raj Kumar Billoria and others.
