JAMMU, Nov 22: Pradesh Congress Committee today urged upon the BJP National President Amit Shah, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and State Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to sack the two BJP ministers involved in Rs 13 crore real estate scandal and seizure of Rs 5 crore from a security escort vehicle of minister by Police in Jammu city last evening.
Addressing a joint press conference senior vice president of the PCC, Sham Lal Sharma, PCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, general secretaries Vikram Malhotra, Ch Manmohan Singh and District president Jammu Urban Anil Chopra warned the State BJP leadership and State Government led by Mehbooba Mufti to expose the names of the ministers and take action against them as per law of the land, otherwise, Congress would launch decisive agitation from the day after tomorrow.
They pointed out that on one hand the BJP Government led by Modi is claiming to provide clean and transparent Government on the other hand, its own ministers are involved in the knee deep scandals worth crores and the Government agencies are trying to hush up the cases. These double standards of the BJP leadership are being exposed before the public. They said ministers and legislators are not above law and if common people, businessmen and others are being caught along with currency in various parts of the country then why the escort vehicle of a high profile BJP minister carrying Rs 5 crore cash to Katra for dumping there and covert into new currency was released by police last night. The State Chief Minister and Director General Police (DGP) owe an explanation to the people of this nation. They should disclose the name of the minister and he should be fired.
Referring to another report appearing in the section of Press today, the Congress leaders said a senior BJP minister was offered and given Rs 13 crore for clearing real estate projects of a BJP MLC from a wealthy and high profile family in Jammu as bribe recently. The MLC’s file was gathering dust for some time in the concerned ministry. After a deal was struck, the project was okayed. They demanded that Chief Minister should hold an inquiry into the matter and action be taken against the erring ministers.
The leaders reminded that PM Narendra Modi makes tall claims that, “Na Khayunga Na Khane Dunga”, but whether he would translate his words into action, will have to be witnessed by the people of this country. They demanded that both the ministers should be sacked and action should also be taken against the MLC of the party because he is also equally responsible for offering huge bribe.
