RAMBAN, Nov 21: Two passengers including Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of Indian Reserve Police (IRP) were killed and four others received injuries, when a tree fell down on a moving Tavera car near Magarkote area, falling under the jurisdiction of Ramsoo police station.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK03-0592 was on its way to Jammu from Srinagar, when a tree fell down on the vehicle, resulting into on the spot death of two persons including ASI of IRP and serious injuries to four others.
The deceased have been identified as Gulzar Dar, son of Ghulam Nabi of Mattan Anantnag and ASI Kuldeep Kumar of IRP, son of Nanak Chand of District Kathua.
After getting information, police team reached the spot and shifted the injured persons to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Ramsoo, from where they were later referred to District Hospital Ramban for advanced treatment.
The injured have been identified as Mohammad Suliman, son of Adnan, Nissar Ansari, son of Mumtaz Ali, Aftab, son of Datta Ali, all residents of Jharkhand and Nissar Mir, son of Abdul Salam of Dooru Anantnag.
After conducting autopsy at PHC Ramban, the bodies of the deceased persons were handed over to family members for last rites.
A case under FIR Number 90/16 under Sections 336, 337 and 304-A RPC has been registered at Ramsoo police station and investigation started.
