JAMMU, Nov 16: BJP general secretary, Dr Narender Singh today made a strong dig at National Conference (NC) leadership for opposing the demonetization of currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denomination and demanding revocation of decision along with other opposition parties.
Expressing his surprise over the role of NC leaders including its president, Dr Farooq Abdullah and working president, Omar Abdullah who also along with other opposition leaders called on President, Pranab Mukherjee over the issue today said that where were the NC leaders earlier when crores of rupees were pumped for funding terrorist activities in Kashmir through Hawala channels and why did not the duo meet president at that time demanding curbing of the same through legislation.
Dr Narender Singh said that for greater good people of the country are ready to bear some minor hardships and the problem will ease soon. He said earlier prior to installation of ATMs too people had to wait in queues in front of banks for withdrawal of cash or collection of cash etc so why an issue has been made this time.
He accused opposition of trying to exploit people by siding with those people who have amassed a huge wealth while the common man is facing hardships to earn two times meal. He said this system should be changed and Modi has taken a step in right direction so entire nation is behind the Prime Minister like a rock.
