Jawan injured as Pakistan violates truce on LoC in Rajouri, Poonch

JAMMU : An Army jawan got injured as Pakistan resorted to heavy unprovoked firing on the Line of Control in twin towns of Rajouri and Poonch in this district.
“A jawan of 9 Para commando, identified as Vinay Davrai (27) from Uttarakhand, this afternoon got injured in Pakistan firing at Khadi Khadmal area on LoC in Poonch,” police sources here said.
They said that he was rushed to the hospital. Meanwhile, Pakistani troops also fired unprovoked in Sunderbani and Naushera Sectors from 1440 hrs.
“Pak used 82 mm Mortars and automatics,” said an official, adding that cross border firing is being responded befittingly by own troops.
Meanwhile, Pakistan also shelled forward posts in Pallanwala sector of Jammu.
However, the Deputy Commissioner of Jammu today ordered opening of all 172 schools located in the bordering belts, which were closed in view of shelling and firing. (AGENCIES)
