JAMMU, Nov 8: Presiding Officer Fast Track Court Kishore Kumar today rejected the bail application of Angat Kumar, son of Sat Paul of Rajouri, who had committed rape with mentally retarded girl inmate of Inner Wheel Rotary Home at Channi Himmat in 2013.
After hearing both the sides, court observed, “the act of rape rears its ugly facade almost every day. As per the National Crime Record Bureau in India a rape is committed after every 20 minutes”, adding “rape being the fastest growing crime is undoubtedly one of the most terrible, belligerent and atrocious act committed against the dignity of a woman”.
“Rape has been held to be more serious than the murder. Rape lays a permanent scar on the life of the victim”, the court said while rejecting the bail application.
