BJP Kashmir Displaced District holds protest rally

JAMMU, Nov 7: Bhartiya Janta Party Kashmir Displaced District held a protest rally in front of Relief Commissioner’s Office, here today.
The protestors, who projected a galaxy of demands with regard to welfare of displaced community were led by MLC Surrinder Ambardar and Chand Ji Bhat, president BJP Kashmir Displaced District.
Mr Ambardar said that the Relief Ministry is not serious in mitigating the problems of the displaced people, adding that it is shocking that Minister for Relief and Rehabilitation has yet to visit any of the migrant camps in Jammu.
While advocating on behalf of PM Package Employees who have been made scapegoats, Mr Ambardar gave a loud and clear cut message to their Administrative Heads either to look into the matter seriously or face the wrath of the community. He gave 15 days time for settling all the issues without any further delay.
In his address, President Kashmir Displaced District said that the inmates of the Camps and non camps are facing multiple problems with regard to supply of ration, medical facility, water supply and allied problems. He said that there is irregular and sub-standard supply of ration at all displaced ration depots, adding that all the dispensaries are without medicines for last four years. Mr Bhat also emphasized on permanent settlement of displaced community at one place in the Valley.
General Secretary of BJP Kashmir Displaced District, PL Dhar while speaking on the occasion said that the process of bifurcation of the ration cards has been made cumbersome, which needs to be simplified, adding that there should not be delayed in issuing RBAs to the needy.
Mr Dhar also demanded a permanent solution to Jagti Water crisis, adding that the water scheme presently existing there is simply a failure.
Vice President of the District, JL Pandita demanded the allotment of constructed shops in all camps to rightful claimants. He also demanded judicious streamlining of fresh 3000 posts amongst doctors, engineers, MBAs, BBAs and highly qualified students of displaced community.
Prof MK Raina demanded rent or Government accommodation for those displaced families who were forced to go for rented accommodation.
The development of road for Purkhoo Camp, which is in pathetic condition was also demanded, besides renovation and face-lifting of TRTs.
All the members unanimously said that the site for construction of transit camps should be selected only after due consultations with stakeholders and BJP Kashmir Displaced District.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were BB Gosani, General Secretary, Dr AK Koul, Ramesh Koul, president BJP Yuva Morcha, Shuban Ji Pandita, Chaman Lal Pandita (Secretary, AK Sher (Member)and Sunil Bhat, Mandal president.
