LEH, Nov 1: In an impressive function held at Padma Chosling Monastery, Thuksey Rinpochey on behalf of Gyalwang Drukpa Rinpochey formally handed over the charge of Padma Chosling Monastery Chumathang to Skabje Khamtak Rinpochey in the presence of Chumathang villagers and relatives of Khamtak Rinp-ochey.
Earlier, Thu-ksey Rinpochey, Executive Cou-nsellor for Wo-rks Dorjay Mut-up, SDM Nyo-ma Tsering Morup, Chum-athang village representatives, YDA President Rinchen Wancher, Chemday Chakzot and relatives and well wishers of Skabje Khamtak Rinpoche headed by Khamtak Rinpochey’s father Tashi Tundup accompanied him from his native village Thiksay to Chumathang in a motor cavalcade.
As soon as Rinpochey and his relatives arrived at Chumathang, the monks of monastery offered grand Tsenjuk to Thuksey Rinpopchey and Khamtak Rinpochey to welcome them at the monastery. On the occasion, former SSP P Sonam, Chumathang Tehsildar, Army officers and representatives from Hemis Monastery were present to grace the occasion.
Khamtak Rinpochey in his speech assured to work hard for the growth of Monastery. “As per the advice of Gyalwang Drukpa Rinpochey, I have assumed the charge of this Monastery and it is my utmost duty to serve you spiritually for which I seek your support”, said Rinpochey.
Thuksey Rinpochey urged villagers to cooperate with Rinpochey to run the activities of Monastery smoothly and to bring peace and prosperity in the villages. Appreciating the contribution of Indian Army towards Ladakhi society, he also urged the Army officers to continue their support and cooperation with Monastery and villagers.
Mentioning about brief biography of Khamtak Rinpochey, Thuksey Rinpochey said that Rinpochey’s presence in the village will help them for the growth and development of Monastery including starting Monastery festival to bring peace, prosperity and unity in the region.
