Vigilance books EO for illegally regularizing services of 5

SRINAGAR, Oct 6: The Vigilance Organization Kashmir has booked then Executive Officer, Municipal Council Baramulla for illegally regularizing services of five drivers and thus abusing his official position.
A case under FIR number 19/2016 has been registered in Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir, on the basis of verification conducted into the alleged illegal appointments, made by Gh Mohammad Lone of Batwina Ganderbal, the then EO, Municipal Council Baramulla, during the year 2007.
The Executive Officer, without any competence, set procedures and in gross violation of framed rules, had made a number of illegal regularizations in Municipal Council Baramulla under conspired plan in league with other five illegal beneficiaries, all drivers.
The beneficiaries, namely Feroz Ahmad Nadaf of  Bandipora, Bashir Ahmad Malik of Baramulla, Manzoor Ahmad Bakshi of Baramulla, Bashir Ahmad Ratehr of Wagoora and Gulzar Ahmad Khan of Kanishpora Baramulla, were regularized on regular pay bands and their salaries were drawn and released by the Executive Officer, who had also attested the service particulars of these accused.
The omission and commissions on the part of these public servants constitute offences punishable under section 5(1) (d) read with 5(2) Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 120-B, RPC.
