Reddy reviews functioning of HG, CD & SDRF wings

JAMMU, Oct 1: Director General-cum-Commandant General of  Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF J&K  Dr. S Gopal Reddy today held series of meetings in Jammu, Samba and Kathua to review functioning of these wings.
He stressed upon the need for close and effective coordination among all the wings and with other stakeholders. He opined that perpetual training coupled with responsibility will lead to desired results when the services of our Directorate will be required by the society.
The meetings deliberated on enhancing capacities, support and supervise existing volunteers in upgrading their skills, encourage new volunteers and make resources having maximum utility. Officers/ officials representing different wings and areas apprised the Director General about the degree of preparedness which will be helpful to safeguard the public as well as their properties during peace times or otherwise.
Dr Reddy himself toured the border districts so as to have a firsthand information of the ground assessment and the corresponding requirements.
Addressing the meetings, Dr Reddy expressed satisfaction in regard to the capabilities acquired till date and the encouraging prospects in spite of the challenges that we face from time to time. He was of the view that his office shall render all possible help so as to maximise the ambit and use of our force and resources.
The meetings were also attended by SSP Vikas Gupta, SSP Stanzin Norboo, SSP Joginder Singh, DySP Sunil Kesar, DySP Kuldeep Khajuria, Chief Warden and others.
