POONCH, July 29: Three persons were injured when they were attacked by a bear in Hari Budha area of Surankote late last evening.
Reports said the incident took place when Rajeena Begum (28), wife of Mohd Maroof had gone to her maize fields late last evening. She was attacked by a full grown bear. Her 6-year-old daughter, Narina Bi was also with her. They raised alarm to seek help.
70 year- old Mohd Bashir listened to their screams and rushed for the rescue with a `lathi’. He was also attacked by the wild beast in the field. However, the bear escaped to the nearby jungle leaving all the three injured. They were later shifted to Poonch hospital where doctors referred elderly man to GMC&H.
