RAJOURI, July 16: Deputy Commissioner Shabir Ahmed Bhat today convened a meeting of line departments to review the arrangements for Budha Amarnath Yatra.
The meeting discussed in detail the arrangements to be put in place for convenience of devotees visiting the shrine during annual pilgrimage.
The DC directed concerned officers to ensure adequate supply of essential commodities like drinking water, power supply, medicare and sanitation for smooth yatra. The arrangements for traffic management and security of devotees were also discussed threadbare.
Executive Engineers of PHE and PDD were directed to make arrangements so as to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply. Besides, Municipal authorities were directed to ensure cleanliness in the city especially along yatra route and at halting places.
The CMO Rajouri was directed to ensure availability of medical staff and facilities for devotees. Police was instructed to deploy sufficient number of police personnel so as to avoid any untoward incident during Yatra.
Later, the DC convened another meeting to finalize strategy for covering the left out population under Bio Metric enumeration.
Specific clusters were identified on the basis of left out population and COMTECH Pvt. Ltd was directed to rush the field functionaries to these clusters so as to achieve the target within stipulated time period.
SSP Rajeshwar Singh, ADC Mumtaz Chowdhary, ACR Paramjeet Singh, Ex-Ens PHE, PDD, Tehsildar, PO besides representatives of social and religious organizations attended the meeting.
